happy landings (sort of)

The shuttle survived re-entry, those lucky astronauts. Upon inspection of the Endeavor, maintenance crews noticed the gash on the belly had increased in size, but not to the point where it allowed dangerous gases to be exposed to the re-entry heat.

How come I feel the US Space Program can be compared to a game of roulette? Isn't it time we re-engineer and design the space vehicles we're using to reflect updated technology?

Holy mackerel.
